Meet our founder, Katherine Brown, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, CBIS:
Dr. Brown is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with a wide range of clinical expertise, ranging from early childhood through geriatric care.
She enjoys helping people of all ages meet their speech and communication goals. Using research-based approaches combined with meaningful goals, Dr. Brown creates individualized therapy to not only support speech, language, or cognition, but also to improve quality of life.
As a busy wife and mom, Dr. Brown understands the demands of keeping up with daily life while also making it to appointments. This led her to found New Light Neuro, a place where she can provide expert speech therapy to children and adults who may not have the time to travel or who do not live near a quality provider.
Dr. Brown is licensed by the states of Washington, Illinois, Iowa, California, and Texas, and certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. She is a certified brain injury specialist, certified provider of Lee Silverman Voice Treatment for Parkinson's disease, Pat Tillman Military Scholar, and an ambassador for the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center. She is the author of multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and presentations related to speech and cognitive changes in individuals with Parkinson's disease and other acquired brain injuries.
